From January to June 2024, I had the opportunity to intern with NBCUniversal on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon as a Music Department Intern. Here, I worked directly with the show’s musical guest and the house band, The Roots, during sound check to ensure seamless performances on the show.
I was able to gain hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of late-night television production. Working behind the scenes at one of the most iconic talk shows in the industry, I had the opportunity to learn from some of the top professionals in television, entertainment, and media.
I was actively involved in daily sound checks and assisted with The Roots' music supervision logs, helping to track and document their musical elements of each show. Additionally, I conducted industry research, analyzing trends and audience engagement related to the artists and guests featured on the show.
Beyond research and logistics, I also had the opportunity to pitch creative ideas, sit in on writers' rooms, and contribute to brainstorming sessions. I often served as a stand-in for talent during show tapings, assisting with blocking, production coordination, and overall set operations.
